The spate of anonymous threats, similar to those made to schools within the Sydney area during the past week, have reached the Central Coast, with Woongarrah Public School the latest to be targeted, along with two schools in the Hunter area being targeted this morning.

Police operations are currently underway at Woongarrah Public School, Newcastle High School and Warners Bay public school following anonymous threats.

Schools in Sydney and the Illawarra have also been threatened.

Woongarrah Public school have released a statement saying there is no longer any threat and the children will be going back to class after an assembly to advise them of what happened. It has been requested that the children stay at school and parents have been asked not to contact the school unless absolutely necessary.

A police media spokeswoman said police were liaising with the Department of Education about the best way to deal with the incidents
