Couple charged for passing on counterfeit notes.

A 26 year old Niagara Park man and a 26 year old Tuggerawong woman have been arrested for passing on counterfeit notes.

At around  7:45am last Wednesday,  20th January, 2016,  Brisbane Water Police spotted the man parked in a vehicle in Baker St Gosford and recognised him as someone who was wanted on a number of outstanding matters.  He was approached and informed that he was under arrest.

The woman,  who was in the vehicle at the time attempted to run from the police, but was chased and arrested.  When police searched the vehicle, they found a number of items which they suspected to be linked to the manufacture of counterfeit currency.

Both  were conveyed to Gosford Police Station with the man was subsequently charged in relation to the passing of counterfeit currency at businesses on the Central Coast.  He was charged with POI 1 charged with  3 counts Utter (pass)  counterfeit money knowing it to be counterfeit and  3 counts Possess counterfeit money.

The woman was charged with 1 Warrant,  1 count Utter counterfeit money knowing it to be counterfeit, 1 count Possess counterfeit money and  1 count Dishonestly obtain property by deception

Both  are currently still in custody and will appear before Gosford Local Court on 29th January 2016
