Man charged after lollies allegedly containing prescribed drugs found.

Police have charged a man after lollies – allegedly filled with a prescribed substance – were seized following a raid in Gosford.

About 11.30am (Friday 27 November 2015), officers from Brisbane Water Local Area Command attended a hotel on Mann Street, after reports of suspicious items being located.

On arrival police entered a room and located small multi coloured candies believed to contain prescription medication. A search warrant was executed and the lollies, dispensers and two bags of a white substance, believed to be a prescribed medication was seized.

About 6.30pm, the same day, investigators returned to the hotel and arrested a 29-year-old Coogee man. He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with possession of a prescribed restricted substance. The man was given conditional bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on Tuesday 5 January 2016.

Inquiries continue into the supply of the prescribed substance.  Anyone who has information that may assist police with their investigation are urged to contact Gosford Police Station on 4323-5599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/ Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
