A man will appear in court over alleged illicit drug supply offences, following a pursuit at Hamlyn Terrace, near Wyong, yesterday.
Just after 11pm yesterday (Wednesday 24 February 2016), officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attempted to stop a motorcycle travelling along the Pacific Highway.
It will be alleged the rider failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated, during which the motorcycle reached speeds of up to 150km/h in a 50km/h zone.
The rider lost control of the motorcycle on Primrose Drive, before it hit a gutter and the rider fled on foot.
The rider, a 39-year-old Bateau Bay man, was arrested nearby and searched, when police allegedly located over 1.1kg of methylamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $550,000.
The illicit drugs were seized for forensic examination.
The man was taken to Wyong Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), police pursuit, and exceed speed limit more than 45km/h.
He was refused bail, to appear at Wyong Local Court on 20 April 2016.
