Man drowns while snorkeling

A man has died after he was found unconscious while snorkeling on the Central Coast today.

About 1pm (Sunday 8 January 2017), emergency services were called to Gravelly Beach, near Soldier’s Beach, following reports of a concern for welfare.

Initial inquiries have led police to believe a 30-year-old man was snorkeling with family when he became unresponsive in the water.

The man was pulled out of the water; however, he could not be revived.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attended and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
