A 37 year old Blackwall man had to be sedated  after causing a disturbance at Toowoon Bay yesterday.

Police responded to Toowoon Bay after receiving numerous calls about a man driving erratically   The man eventually smashed his car into back of another vehicle.  He got out of the car and threatened a number of people with a baseball bat before striking a dog.  He then jumped off rocks into the ocean.

After being smashed back into the rocks,  police struggled with the man before managing to get him back on shore, where he had to be sedated and strapped to a rescue stretcher.

He was arrested and transported to Gosford hospital where he was later scheduled under the mental health act.  Police believe the man was under the influence of ice at the time.
