Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after accident

A female motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after colliding with a car at Ettalong Beach this evening.

Emergency crews were called to Barrenjoey Road. Ettalong Beach shortly after 6pm.

The motorcyclist, a 50 year old female, was thrown approximately 8 metres when the car hit her motor scooter, sustaining serious head, pelvis and leg injuries.

CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter landed in a car-park near the location and met NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene.

CareFlight’s specialist emergency doctor and intensive care paramedic were able to provide initial treatment before the woman was transferred to the helicopter and airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
