Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after hitting tree

A  motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after crashing at Somersby this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene after reports a motorcyclist had hit a tree on the Old Pacific Hwy at Somersby.

On arriving at the scene, it was found the 33 year old man had sustained injuries to the head, chest, pelvis and legs. 

CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was called to Somersby shortly after 11am, where the specialist emergency doctor and intensive care paramedic provided treatment.

He was then flown to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
