Search resumes for missing Wyoming man

A search of the Canobolas State Forest has resumed today for a Wyoming man who’s been missing for more than a week.

Steven Groat, 54, was last seen about 12pm on Saturday 19 December 2015, when he left a friend’s house in Orange.

Family members alerted police on Wednesday 23 December 2015, concerned that Steven’s disappearance and lack of contact was out of character; there are also concerns he may be without medication.

On Thursday 24 December, Mr Groat’s car was found in the Canobolas State Forest, and a search of the area was initiated by local police, SES volunteers and family members.

Steven is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 183cm tall, of medium build, with a fair complexion, brown hair and green/hazel eyes.

Officers attached to Canobolas Local Area Command are again appealing for anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/ Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
