Two men have been charged after police seized a handmade shot gun, knife, drugs and counterfeit currency, alleged to have been in their possession in Gosford yesterday.
About 8.50am (Tuesday 22 March 2016), officers attached to Brisbane Water Local Area Command were conducting patrols of Beane Street when they approached a parked vehicle across the driveway of a vacant block.
Police spoke to the driver, a 23-year-old man, a front male passenger, and two female back passengers, before they searched the vehicle, where it will be alleged the officers located:
- Digital scales,
- An ice pipe,
- Over 5 grams of ice,
- Shot gun shells,
- A handmade shot gun,
- A knife, and,
- Counterfeit currency.
All items were seized for forensic examination.
The two men were arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station where the driver was charged with unlicensed driver (never held), possession of implement to administer, possess ammunition, possess prohibited knife in public place and possess prohibited drug.
The front passenger – a 34-year-old man – was charged with possess unregistered firearm in public place, and possess firearm without permit.
Both men were refused bail, to appear at Gosford Local Court today (Wednesday 23 March 2016).
Further charges are expected to be laid.
